Parks, Gardens and Graveyards
This exhibition highlights the many green spaces in the city: the parks, gardens and graveyards which are integral to the layout of Edinburgh's urban space and the Edinburgh World Heritage site.

Edinburgh's unique landscape setting includes many public and privately managed gardens, particularly in the New Town and an exceptional group of historic graveyards including St Cuthberts, Canongate, Greyfriars, Old Calton Burying Ground and the New Calton Burying Ground.

The green valley of Princes Street Gardens and the prominent Calton Hill, are home to many significant monuments and statues but also play an important role in the provision of valuable green space and enhancing the city's environment; they remain a focal point for Edinburgh's residents and visitors.
