The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage

The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage
The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh World Heritage
The Old and New Towns of Edinburgh were inscribed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1995. The inscription recognised the unique contrast in architecture and streetscape, between the Medieval Old Town and the Georgian New Town. Together they form one of the most spectacular urban landscapes in the world. This exhibition highlights the landscape, historic buildings and monuments of the Site, which is now protected conserved and promoted by Edinburgh World Heritage.
