The North Bridge

A pictorial history of North Bridge, one of Edinburgh’s key thoroughfares, from its inception in the mid-1700s to the 21st century refurbishment to extend this important transport link for decades to come.

Crawford Bridge murals

This collection of images were taken to record the community murals and the memorial graffiti to Bradley Welsh on Crawford Bridge in advance of the bridge being refurbished and repainted.

Moubray House

Moubray House at 51 and 53 High Street, is one of Edinburgh's oldest residential houses. It would be easy to pass by Moubray House, and focus on its better-known neighbour, John Knox House. However, we invite you to stop and take a look around inside this unique property.

Forth Bridge Accidents Book, 1883-1886

This exhibition sets out the Forth Bridge Accidents Book, 1883-1886. This book in the collections of Queensferry Museum lists all recorded accidents during the first three years of construction of the Forth Bridge. It is published here for the first time complete with a full transcription.

The Adam family - enlightened architects of 18th century Edinburgh

This exhibition highlights some of the buildings and monuments the Adam family designed in and around Edinburgh alongside selected pages from architectural ‘copybooks’ held in the Central Library. Some of these books were produced by the Adam architects to showcase their works, others would have been consulted by them for inspiration and reference.
