Thomas Keith's photographs of Scotland
This exhibition of beautiful early photographs of Scottish towns, buildings and landscapes are the work of Thomas Keith, a surgeon and amateur photographer.
Edinburgh900: Objects from nine centuries of city life
Marking 900 years of Edinburgh being a city, this exhibition highlights founding documents, beautiful art, curious objects and tales of Edinburgh icons. Some of these can be seen in our venues, while others have never been shared before.
Drawings of John Slezer
This exhibition brings together drawings by John Slezer of the city of Edinburgh and surrounding area. Dating from the late 17th century, they are some of the oldest images in our collections.
Newington Library
The opening of Newington Library in March 1975 was eagerly anticipated by locals and the library was described by a journalist at the time, as a "southern oasis, where once a temple stood".
The North Bridge
A pictorial history of North Bridge, one of Edinburgh’s key thoroughfares, from its inception in the mid-1700s to the 21st century refurbishment to extend this important transport link for decades to come.
Crawford Bridge murals
This collection of images were taken to record the community murals and the memorial graffiti to Bradley Welsh on Crawford Bridge in advance of the bridge being refurbished and repainted.
