Description
A street scene looking east along George Street towards St Andrew Square where the tall pillar of Melville Monument can be seen in the distance. On the left side of the street is St Andrew's and St George's Church and opposite the prominent entrance to the Assembly Rooms. There are many people walking along the pavements and in the foreground a man carrying baskets of goods crosses the road accompanied by two boys.
