Description
A narrow walkway leads through tall tenement housing in Edinburgh. The buildings have small windows and peaked roofs with dormer windows. On both sides of the street there are stone staircases leading to entrances to houses at first floor level.

Morrison's Close off the High Street had a great house on its east side in the 18th century. The house was owned in succession by two men both named John Morison.
The High Street is the section of Edinburgh's Royal Mile that runs from George IV Bridge down to its junction with Jeffrey Street and St. Mary's Street.
