Title
Undress for August 1799
Description
This illustration appears in The Lady's Monthly Museum opposite a letter to the editor, a Mrs Mentor. The lady describes her problem:

'I am one of those unfortunate beings, who have resigned the staff out of their hands, and are therefore in danger of falling to the ground; or, in other words, I have given my children an education so much above myself, that they despise my opinion, and ridicule my appearance; and, unless you (who are so learned) will kindly take the trouble of bringing them to their duty, I am likely to become one of the most unhappy of all mothers...'
