Title
Fourth page of 'A Visit to Venice' in Randolph Caldecott's '"Graphic" Pictures'
Description
Three pictures illustrate the central text.
The picture in the top left shows two gondolas and their gondoliers travelling under a small bridge and around a corner.
The second picture on the top right shows the Bridge of Sighs. Gondolas pass underneath it and in the foreground three prisoners ascend a flight of steps to the prison.
The last picture is larger than the other two, covering the width of the page. Eye-level to the water, the picture shows us more gondolas sailing on the Grand Canal. On the right sits a palace, and in the foreground is a covered gondola, a private gondola, with a little cabin in it.
