True to his form, Caldecott includes a playful depiction of one harrier barrelling down the hill trying to control his cart, his hat caught mid-air as it blows off his head. This image was a result of Caldecott's visit in 1876 to the spa town of Buxton, in the Peak District of Derbyshire, England. He later published this illustration in the Graphic, along with several other scenes of Buxton.
