Moubray House was originally part of small group of medieval buildings and is now one of the oldest residential buildings in Edinburgh. Moubray House was first built by Robert Moubray in 1477 and some of the original masonry construction can still be seen at the top of Trunk’s Close but the main form of the current building dates from 1529 when it was substantially reconstructed and extended northwards.
