Raemaekers, in presenting yet a third cartoon dealing with the sinking of hospital ships, evidences his assurance not only as to the enormity of the crime but the Kaiser's having thereby reached the high-water mark of his misdeeds. Spurned by his God, he is now reduced to partnership with the Devil and obliged to listen to the fulsome adulation of the dominant member of the firm. For such Satan has become. Many have been the aspects that the Kaiser's person has assumed under the artist's fecund pencil, but none has been imbued with greater power than this, where, a confirmed sufferer in mind and body, the abandoned and tormented soul almost beseeches our pity."
