The Burns Monument stands on the south side of Regent Road, Edinburgh, overlooking Calton Cemetery. It was built in 1830 by the architect Thomas Hamilton. It commemorates Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns, who died in 1796.This photograph was taken whilst conservation officers refurbished stonework on the Burns Monument.
