Light fills the interior of St Stephen's Church, Stockbridge Edinburgh, from a glass cupola in the roof. A light fixture is suspended beneath the window. In the centre of the view is the church organ and organ pipes with clear glass windows on either side. In front of the organs are rows of chairs. To the rear are pews.

St Stephen's Church is located in Stockbridge, roughly half a mile from Princes Street, Edinburgh. Howe Street and St Vincent Street form a steep downhill approach to the church, dramatically framing its imposing tower. The church was designed by William H. Playfair and built between 1827-28. The church, now known as the St Stephen's Centre, operates as a venue for performing arts.
