Trunks Close. North side of High Street above Knox's House - now mostly demolished

Description

A woman and two children walk down a narrow lane between tenement buildings in the Old Town of Edinburgh. Another woman who is holding a jug, talks to a companion on the stepped entrance to one of the houses. At the foot of the steps a table is laden with produce. All along the street of flats, washing is strung from laundry poles to dry.
