Joseph Hall
Description
Bill's father Joseph was born in 1911. This postcard shows Joseph aged about 3, taken on Christmas Eve 1914. A gift for his father William, who was off to the front, the message reads, "Love to Daddy from Joe". William died of wounds on 8th April 1916.

The photographs in this exhibition were kindly loaned to us by Bill Hall for our digital collections. It contains images dating from the early 1900s to the 1980s, taken across Scotland.
Brought up in Edinburgh he has collected many family photographs and items covering his mother's early years and his own boyhood.
