Description
A bird's eye view of Edinburgh and Edinburgh Castle under siege. Soldiers firing guns and cannons can be seen on the castle walls and behind defences surrounding the Castle Rock. The streets and buildings of the town can be seen to the right of the castle as can Leith and the coastline. Galleons as sailing off the coast.

In 1571 Edinburgh Castle was held by supporters of Queen Mary against the rule of new regent the Earl of Lennox The siege of the castle lasted two years and become known as The Lang Siege.
