Portrait photograph of Miss Ann Cameron wearing Victorian costume and standing next to a table. She is wearing a full-length day dress pleated at the waist made from checked material. The dress has a trim around the hem and decoration at the cuff and shoulder. She wears a belt with a metal buckle and a brooch at her neck. Her hair is tied back. Behind her, the backdrop of a painted room and window scene sits behind heavy curtains.

David Doull was a professional photographer at 72 Lauriston Place from 1865 - 1867. He was born in Edinburgh in 1831 and was one of the founder members of the Edinburgh Photographic Society in 1861. In 1970 Edinburgh Public Libraries purchased Mr Doull's collection of 319 glass negatives from Mr Frank Seymour, one in a chain of successors to Mr Doull's shop at Lauriston Place.
