The Leith Banking Company was founded in Leith, Scotland in 1793 and was one of the earliest Scottish banks. It only existed for 49 years but its notes are some of the most sought after in the entire Scottish Series. This is because they feature some of the most adventurous engraving designs of the early Scottish notes.
They were printed by the famous Perkins and Heath Company who used steel engraved plates to produce the very intricate designs.
