For the year to 1st October 1912, 1323 patients had the benefit of a stay here before returning home. Of these, 925 remained for three weeks or longer.

The Corstorphine Convalescent Home opened in 1867. It was enlarged in 1893 to a forty bed capacity. Patients were sent here for up to three weeks to fully recuperate.
The building still operates as a community hospital providing long-term and respite healthcare services for elderly patients who have suffered a stroke or those with dementia.
