This chapel, although never consecrated, served as the Episcopal Church of Leith until a new church was erected in 1863, a few yards from this building in Constitution Street. The architect was James Thompson.

The entrance is under a square recess upheld by Corinthian columns. Inside this church is a complete square lighted by a cupola in the roof.

The first service was held on the 30th of March 1806.

After the church was built, the old church here was added to and was latterly occupied by Messrs Lawson, Donaldson & Co seed merchants, and was destroyed by fire in 1980.
