St Andrew's Church was built in 1852 by James Anderson Hamilton. A tower and spire were added in 1883 by the architects Wallace & Flockhart. In 1974 the congregation joined that of Newhaven Parish Church and the building was sold. It is now used as the Alien Rock climbing centre, but the exterior has not been altered.
HMS Assistance was a fleet repair ship, launched in 1900 and scrapped in 1937.
