Description
On the left-hand side of the picture, a stag runs out of a stream and towards some woods. On the right, two dogs are just entering the stream, chasing it. There is a bridge in the distance, and a man on a horse with his arm outstretched into the air.
There is handwritten text to the bottom left of the picture which reads, "Crossing his last stream", and in the bottom right are Randolph Caldecott's initials, "R C" and the date, "Sept 1881".
