Description
From The Lady's Monthly, Cabinet of Fashion, on the left page, ladies model morning dress:
First figure - round bonnet of purple or crimson velvet, white feather and orange-coloured ribbon; silk net or lace veil; white or spotted muslin robe; full ruff round the neck; full sleeves, with orange trimming.
Second figure - front view of the first figure, with lilac or pink muslin robe; pink or orange shoes, and pale yellow or slate-coloured gloves.
Afternoon dress figures on the right:
First figure - the hair in large full curls, with large ostrich feathers, and orange bandeau; white muslin dress, with vandyke lace ruff round the neck; full sleeves; the body trimmed with orange and blue silk; slate-coloured gloves; yellow or pale pink shoes;

This image is taken from The Lady's Monthly Museum, a volume which includes editions from July, August, September, October, November and December 1799.
As well as these coloured engravings from the 'Cabinet of Fashion' the magazines contain literature and theatre reviews, letters to the editor, poetry, articles on female historical figures such as Lady Jane Grey and Mary Queen of Scots and 'charades' (or poetic riddles).
