Afternoon dress and Full Dress for August 1799

Description

Ladies on the left model afternoon dress in straw bonnets and muslin robes. The ladies on the right pose in full dress, with their hair tied up with silk bands and adorned with ostrich feathers. They were long gowns of muslin and satin, decorated with gold and silver buttons, tassels and trims.

This image is taken from The Lady's Monthly Museum, a volume which includes editions from July, August, September, October, November and December 1799.
