Title
Mandolinata
Description
"How admirably, in this cartoon, is the fresh flowering atmosphere of spring suggested by the girl's soft figure and drapery. The idea of bony Death serenading May, while the spring wind wafts over hill and dale the scent of the blossoming thickets, is one more strange to the modern than to the mediaeval world, when the knights and men-at-arms took the field in spring, and retired into the castles at the approach of winter."
