Our Nation's Sons is a collection of large scale black and white images drawn by the artist Joe Caslin. These images began appearing, pasted to walls and buildings around the city centre of Edinburgh, in April 2012.
The images were drawn pictures of young men from St Thomas of Aquin's school: Declan Walls, Andreas Christodoulidis, Jonny Duffy, Keir Hughes, Euan Begg, Luke Paxton, Matthew Durkin & Kieran Lyons; are the boys who took part. As well as being drawn for the pictures, they participated in pasting the pictures up and were central to the theme of the project, that of the treatment and attitudes towards young people, particularly young men, in British society today.
There are six pictures in all, displayed in the following locations: Number 20, The Cowgate, George IV Bridge, Guthrie Street, Robertson's Close, Holyrood Road, and Viewcraig Street.
