The firm of Alexander Thomson (London) Ltd,, Civil Engineering Contractors was more commonly known as AXT. The private firm operated from the site at Gylemuir Road in Corstorphine from the mid 1960s until it went into voluntary liquidation around the mid 1990s. The site was then sold off for housing.
