The Scottish American War Memorial or 'The Call' was unveiled on 7 September 1927. The architect Reginald Fairlie designed the setting of the memorial and the sculpture was by Robert Tait Mackenzie based in Philadelphia. The bronze was cast at the Roman Bronze Works at Brooklyn and the stone was quarried from Craigleith Edinburgh.
