Medwin House, named after a river in the Pentland Hills is one of three multi-storey flats that make up the Calders development. It was the first of the three designed and completed by Crudens on 31 January 1968. The block has 136 flats: 40 two apartments and 96 three apartments. All three have since been reclad and upgraded in 1989. There was a competion to improve the facilities for children and as a result "Sunshine" adventure playgrounds were created .
