On the far left is a low rise shopping area including a post office. The area is illuminated by the two street lights in the picture. The nearer one has one main lamp and several side lights.

Medwin House, named after a river in the Pentland Hills is one of three multi-storey flats that make up the Calders development. It was the first of the three designed and completed by Crudens on 31 January 1968. The block has 136 flats: 40 two apartments and 96 three apartments. All three have since been reclad and upgraded .
