Description

Washing hangs from small windows at the back of an old stone tenement block in Edinburgh. On a wooden ledge on the near wall sits a row of plant pots and trailing plants creep across the stonework.

Morrison's Close off the High Street had a great house on its east side in the 18th century. The house was owned in succession by two men both named John Morison.
The High Street is the section of Edinburgh's Royal Mile that runs from George IV Bridge down to its junction with Jeffrey Street and St. Mary's Street.
