A portrait photograph of Daniel Gray with two children. Mr Gray is sitting with his legs crossed in a wicker chair and a young boy and girl stand close beside him. The girl is wearing a dress and holding a small basket of flowers and the boy is wearing a buttoned jacket and holding a little bunch of flowers.

Daniel Gray and children of 1 East Adam Street, Edinburgh. Mr Gray worked for the General Post Office.
David Doull was a professional photographer at 72 Lauriston Place from 1865 - 1867. He was born in Edinburgh in 1831 and was one of the founder members of the Edinburgh Photographic Society in 1861. In 1970 Edinburgh Public Libraries purchased Mr Doull's collection of 319 glass negatives from Mr Frank Seymour, one in a chain of successors to Mr Doull's shop at Lauriston Place.
