A rooftop view along a curved street in Edinburgh's New Town. The tenements are all of a similar design although some have shops at street level. Parked cars line the road. Stone carvings stand on the rooftop and in the distance the distinctive silhouette of Fettes College can be seen.

St Stephen's Street is situated in the north-west of Edinburgh's New Town, just to the north of the W. H. Playfair designed Royal Circus. The street is contemporary with Playfair's development, also dating from the 1820's.
