Statue of Robert Burns, Foot of Constitution Street, Leith

Description

On a gloriously sunny day the statue of Robert Burns stands at the foot of Constitution Street in Leith. The bard has a frock coat on and stands with his arm across his chest. His statue is atop a carved red sandstone plinth with metal plaques attached. Behind it is the impressive Corn Exchange with its ornate dome and weathervane.

The statue of Robert Burns dates from 1898. It stands at the junction of Bernard and Constitution Streets. The bronze statue was designed by D.W. Stevenson.
