Description
Portrait photograph of a woman called Mrs James Watson. She is sitting and holds her hands clasped together in her lap. She is wearing a dark coloured day dress with buttons down the bodice, a lace collar and decoration around the cuffs and at the shoulders. She wears a long chain necklace and her hair is styled in ringlets.

Mrs James Watson of 2 Preston Terrace, Edinburgh. The address belonged to W.F.Watson.
David Doull was a professional photographer at 72 Lauriston Place from 1865 - 1867. He was born in Edinburgh in 1831 and was one of the founder members of the Edinburgh Photographic Society in 1861. In 1970 Edinburgh Public Libraries purchased Mr Doull's collection of 319 glass negatives from Mr Frank Seymour, one in a chain of successors to Mr Doull's shop at Lauriston Place.
