Public School, Ratho
Description
A large group of children stand in the road and in the grounds in front of Ratho Public School. Many of the boys wear caps, short trousers and have white collars. The girls are wearing dresses and stand on the level above the road leaning over iron railings. One boy in the centre of the bottom row balances on a bike and a man stands at the end of the row playing a recorder. The school has a fancy curved gable end and in the wall is a stone carved plaque which reads, 'Ratho School, 1895'.
