This exhibition highlights some of the most popular toys and games of the 1970s.
The 1970s saw a major rise in the trend for toy spin-offs from films and television. Important examples were Star Wars, Dr Who, Starsky & Hutch, Charlie's Angels and The Wombles. Television programmes led to an even greater interest in the world of popular music and the lives of celebrities. Teenage magazines like Look-In and Jackie magazine for girls became increasingly popular.
