the big lot of the Transport came with the next crowd. H. who was in Russia too, is in command of the Transport & is with us, R. who is 2nd follows next lot. We're a lively crowd as far as I can see! No fear of wearying this trip!!

We crossed from Folkestone to Boulogne this afternoon & had quite a choppy time coming over. We got in about 4.30 & mist & rain was our welcome to "Fair France", but the Grand Hotel du Louvre has helped matters & made up for climatic conditions out of doors & food & warmth have somewhat altered our outlook on life! I am, unfortunately, O.C. Baggage this trip - one of the privileges of being an old member, I suppose! Everyone is now coming to me & asking for this, that & the next thing but if they've kit bags & the said kit bags are outside & it is simply bucketing outside - what a "blessed" nuisance they all are! I could see all their kit bags - & they them-selves too - far enough, at the present moment! How I've counted & counted these green sacks & sleeping [?]! As I know what a fuss there will be, if one military package goes astray! If they would only cease coming, then I would betake
