as a troopship - the admiralty chartered her & we are in sole possession; except for 30 Serbian soldiers & 6 officers,
who, we are conveying across. She's quite a small boat, & a fiend of a tub, very narrow in her bottom & in consequence rolls like fun! She's filthytoo & of course has no accomodation [accommodation] for passengers; at present, I hate her like nothing on earth! Now, for something of our movements. It has been one of these voyages, which produce the deeply sworn "never again" of suffering passengers. One regrets living on an Island & the only comforting verse of scripture that suggests itself for one's tombstone is -"There shall be no more sea"! I want one more voyage only, as long as life lasts, & that is "back to Blighty" again!
Well, to continue with the voyage. After we got out of the River & before getting right into the open, we retired to our bunks & horrible rat-holes we found' em! When we got up next morning we were just opposite Belfast Lough - such a fine bay. We hugged the coast of Ireland all morning, it was
