Cause of Accident/Nature of Accident : Falling from scaffolding at West Crane into Caisson (30 ft)
Remarks : Left arm severely bruised. Large cut on right ear. no bones broken.
Removed to Mr Moir’s office attended by Dr Hunter

Cause of Accident/Nature of Accident : Boggie wheel crushing his foot while running jib of a crane along the rails.
Remarks : Left foot severely crushed. Attended by Dr Hunter.

Cause of Accident/Nature of Accident : Breaking of crane gear and falling of jib at caisson.
Remarks : Scalp wound back of left ear 5” long 1½” deep. Back and side crushed and bruised.
Attended to by Dr. Hunter who ordered his removal home. His
brother called on 2nd June asking compensation for injuries (Settled by
T. A. & Co. agreeing to pay his weekly wages, less Sick Fund money,
until such time as he should be able to work again.)

This book was acquired by Museums & Galleries Edinburgh in 2018. It is, as far as we know, the only surviving working document from the earliest stages of construction of the Forth Bridge.
