Location
Edinburgh and Scottish Collection
Granton Harbour, situated in the north of Edinburgh on the Firth of Forth, was constructed in the mid 19th century. In addition to acting as a fishing harbour it also provided an important link to Fife and the north of Scotland. From 1848 to 1890 a rail ferry was in operation carrying trains from Granton to Burntisland on the Fife coast. More information about the history and changing story of
Granton
can be found at the Granton History Group's website.
