The Canaan School for Girls operated from 29 South Oswald Road, Edinburgh from 1920-1935. Originally known as Blackford Park House it was built as a family home in 1871 by Andrew Usher, benefactor of the Usher Hall. The building was sold to the Salvation Army in 1935 who renamed it Sunnyside and it operated as a Salvation Army home until the late 1970s. The building was demolished in 1982.
