Description
9./
13th Oct: 1916. Field Post 35. 1st Serbian Division.

I will commence a letter, in hopes of getting it sent in to Megidia [Medjidia] with some of the ambulance cars. My letters have been very "muddly" lately, but it's difficult to find either the time or the place to get any writing done these days.
Peace & quietness seems to have gone for ever!
Well, here we are up at Boul-boul-mic, all "as right as rain". We left Megidia [Medgidia] on Tuesday - 12 "greys" & the bigger ½ of the "Buffs" - it felt quite like leaving home & we felt very sorry to leave the others behind us. We came up here in one of the ambulance cars; we were are not worried in the way of luggage, as all we have with us are our haver sacks & bed-rolls - the latter consist of; a ground sheet, couple of blankets & our "plaids". The haversacks hold all our personal belongings - ie toilet appliances & one change - "some" luggage, what? It took us about 2 hours coming up & it was a very hot, dusty run, we were almost devoured by flies. All along the route it was one continuous stream of troops, guns etc:. The road all along was not interesting - v. flat.
