Backritza [Bacheridza]. We hear we are quite the "talk of the town" & Archangel is greatly interested in us! Our transport
girls, with their short hair, cause quite a sensation here! I think the inhabitants take us all for men! One thing the natives never stare - very different from our people, what?
Letters are being collected in a few mins, so I must close. We expect to entrain to-morrow & depart in the evening. We will have a very busy day getting the stores chequed [checked] & transfer[r] ed to the train.

Sept:15th - 1916. Aboard "The train".

This is being "penned" in a very joggly train, so I am doubtful if you will be able to read it. The less said about trains in Russia the better - at least in war time! At the rate we are going at present, we shall probably reach Odessa a month hence. They We simply crawl along & stop at every little wayside station. Also, it is a single line & as we are a "special", we have to wait all along the way for other trains to pass. We have now
