Oct:12th 61st General Hospital - Horliack.
Another change of camp! Plenty of variety these days, but not the variety I want!! Haven't been so fit again, so was dumped in here yesterday. This is a tented hospital, just next door to the convalescent place. It's no use hoping! I was "boarded" for Blighty yester: to go home in a Hospital ship! It is too disappointing for words & I did so hope I'd be able to re-join the Unit again & get back to work, but no such luck, "the powers that be" think otherwise, so must just resign myself to the inevitable! Am feeling v. "peeved" and cross to-day - so is the weather, for it's pouring!

Oct:13th 61st General Hospital - Horliack.
King Ferdinand of Bulgaria has abdicated his throne in favour of his son - Prince Boris. The Turkish Government has fallen & the Cabinet has resigned. So things are moving rapidly - surely soon all will be over. News just come, that I go off by Hospital ship to-morrow!

Oct:14th Hospital Ship - "Goorkha".
Well - here I am homeward bound! Is it possible? But, alas, it's "finish Johnnie" with Macedonia for me! I left the 61st, by ambulance, at 6.30a.m. & was aboard here by 8.30. This is quite a decent little boat. There are only
