Description
Sept: 20th 43rd General - Salonique.
Here I am & very unhappy too in my new quarters. I feel most terribly "Unit sick" and absolutely miserable - the truth will out! I can't bear to think of the others all moving forward & getting lots of work to do & me lying here absolutely useless. I left our dear "happy valley" in an ambulance yester: afternoon. It was dreadful saying good-bye to them all, how I hated it. The journey down here was rather trying, the road being v. bumpy & the patient rather weary & very, very sad.

Sept: 22nd 43rd General - Salonique.
Patient in no better frame of mind!! Allowed up for tea & stayed up for couple of hours. This is a beautifully situated hospital - overlooking Salonique Bay and v. well equipped in every way - but give me my own wee tent up at Verbliani & all my own Unit with me! There are 1500 beds here for "Tommies" - 100 for officers & another 100 for "sick sisters".

Sept: 24th 43rd General - Salonique.
Have just seen the C.M.O. & used all my "persuasive powers" to get a move on - I must get fit & be able for work. Col.M. has promised that I shall be sent up to the Con-valescent Hospital at Horliack within next few days. I'm sure
