Accompayning text from the volume 'German Raid on Scarborough' reads, "Dunollie, the residence of J.H. Turner, Esq, was very badly damaged and in the evidence given at the inquest on the body of the servant who was killed in the library, it was stated that three shells fell in front of the house and thirteen at the back. One of these struck Alfred Beal, a postman on his round, causing instantaneous death."
