Accompanying text from the volume 'German Raid on Scarborough' reads, "The house, No. 6 Belvoir Terrace suffered severely. Three of the bedrooms were destroyed, and a young lady who occupied one of them was carried by the force of the explosion of the shell into another room, and very badly hurt. The top panels of the door had to be smashed before she could be released from her painful position. The books in the bedrooms were blown from the shelves into the yard below."
