of No. 4 Caisson sustaining
severe injuries possible Fracture
of base of skull -
compression of brain
& internal injuries.
Remarks : Attended to by Drs. Hunter & Simpson in
Ambulance room - Injuries proved fatal
26th. Nov. Professor Chiene sent for Tuesday
afternoon. £ 28.10.0 Compn. paid

yard & broke his leg

Remarks : Was very drunk at time of accident - off
work for a week & waiting to be re-

removed to Infirmary Edinr. By
Ambulance.
This book was acquired by Museums & Galleries Edinburgh in 2018. It is, as far as we know, the only surviving working document from the earliest stages of construction of the Forth Bridge.
