This was the type of coach used on the 'Innocent Railway', from which Leith Railway was a branch line.
South Leith Railway Station was the first station to open in Leith, in 1831, as part of the Edinburgh and Dalkeith Railway, and the first to close, in 1905. The trains were originally horse-drawn. This photograph shows the terminal building, station-master's house and entrance to the booking hall.
