Keswick is a market town in Cumbria, England. It is situated just north of Derwentwater and a short distance from Bassenthwaite Lake, within the Lake District National Park. During the 16th century, small scale mining took place in Keswick which resulted in the world's first graphite pencils. The pencil industry remains today, including the Cumberland Pencil Museum and the world's largest pencil.
